Is there a reliable source that has a video or chart of each individual movement of some Shaolin forms, preferrably weapons, that someone could recommend?

Thanks

Nope sorry. Shaolin monks =/= shaolin kung fu, although it sounds counter intuitive. It is mostly modern wushu at this point plus the crazy conditioning that they go through. Its really awesome, but not a curriculum that is older than the late 1970's.

my teacher doesnt believe in set forms. we have to make them up from the basic postures and movements he teaches...

its harder to perform, but it comes more natural, or so he says...

i personally like set forms and then performing on my own.

What style do you train with Richadz? Not all kung fu forms are flashy and non-functional. Forms for all styles are used to practice the technique to build muscle memory and conditioning. If you look at traditional stylist for kung fu you will see a less flashy and more rooted form.

Correction, I meant to say, "I for one think "Shaolin Gung Fu forms tend to be flashy......"

Some gung fu has some purpose....
