white owl
I am looking in to buying a chest guard and I wondering if any of you guys have one and which one you like. I would like to get one that fits under my gi because I have notice that the ones on the outside you are a walking bullseye.
bushido_man96
I have not seen chest guards that go on the inside of the uniform. I don't think they would offer quite as much protection.I use one from Choi Brothers, and it is ok, but I don't like them in general. Perhaps some from places like Kwon or Adidas would fit better. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com

JohnC
I haven't seen any chest guards that offer any significant protection that would fit comfortably under a karate gi. If you want to pursue, I'd suggest the foam ones would be your best bet, due to the 3/4" -1" padding thickness. Any of the well known brands would probably do. Hope this helps. DWx
Do you want something for the whole torso or just the chest? I hate them and have never worn minebut you can get ones that are just the chest and are pretty inconspicuous. white owl
I have one just for the chest that is all right. It goes in under my gi. But I was looking for something that will protect my ribs but I do not want to have to wear it on the outside because the guys in my dojo hit pretty hard and I can take it for while. I think if they see it they will want to hit even harder. Especially the one with the bulls eye.
DWx
Century do a couple that go underneath, don't know how much protection you'd get from it: http://www.centurymartialarts.com/Sparring_Gear/Martial_Armor/Martial_Armor_Vest.aspxMacho also do rib guards that you could probably wear underneath: http://www.macho.com/ProductDetails.aspx?id=10000084&prodid=WWWRGMDXI did find this but I don't who makes it and can't find another site selling them: http://www.playwell.co.uk/moulded-body-armour-p-1830.html "Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it." ~ Confucius
white owl
Thank you DWx, I appreciate it. I like the Century one but it does not look like it covers the rips.
bushido_man96
I didn't realize that the Martial Armor was worn underneath. It might be worth looking into. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
DWx
Yeah I didn't think so either but the one I linked to has actually been sewn onto a shirt. Looks like pretty thin stuff though so you could probably wear it inside.
