Car Chase Scenes

Many movie-makers put a great deal of time and money into car chase scenes that they expect will rev up the action in a movie. The following link is to a scene from "Gone in 60 Seconds," where the Cobra is stolen by Nicolas Cage and some really fast and fancy driving is done:

What do you think of car chase scenes? Do they really add excitement to the movie? Do you usually find yourself entertained by them or not?

I enjoy a good car chase, and the one in the movie you mention is a great one.

I like to read about a good car chase, too. Clive Cussler, my favorite fiction author, writes a good car chase scene. His book, The Chase, is a historical fiction novel, set in the early 1900s, involving train and car chases. Really good stuff.

I like them.. when they're done well. I think the main problem is that me and my Dad ae involved in our local car club so we do all sorts of driving stuff anyway. When you see car chases you kinda think "that wouldn't work" or "that's just stupid". Kinda like MA guys tend to see fight scenes in films

I enjoy chases, especially the ones in The Transporter or the Bourne series.

I usually enjoy them, however, they can be really cheesy if poorly done. My favorite car chase is from the movie "Bullitt."

I like them too, if done well. However, in contrast, I don't remember the movie but the dialog was:

Girl in passenger seat: "Why are you driving so fast?"

Guy in driver's seat: "Because they're chasing us!"

Girl: "Well, why don't you just stop?"

Guy: "This is a chase, you can't just stop!"
