Wa-No-Michi
in the UK do they not make you sign a no liability waver?I don't know about other MAs but for TKD most, if not all, of the major GB associations are under the British Taekwondo Council (BTC) who provide insurance, including indemnity for coaches/instructors etc. where steps have been taken to reasonably minimise risk. Unless it is negligence and it really was too dangerous, the instructor is rarely liable."...where steps have been taken to reasonably minimise risk."Yep!, that includes the appropriate grade matching thingy. Traymond
But in a lawful situation, it should not be the instructors fault, just because the aspect of the instructor is to test his students anyways, what better way than to pit the student against a higher rank? In alot of styles, Higher ranks spare lower ranks for testing, and vice versa depending on their mental and physical attitude. And the instructor could stop things if it got out of hand. "Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it." ~ Confucius
