Well, then I guess there's nothin' wrong with that. Just be sure that you can keep up that level of skill. I know blackbelts who haven't been to a dojo in twenty years. The belt may be black, but their training no longer is.

I made it to my blackbelts without missing a single class.

I received the only perfect attendance award my instructors have ever heard of in their thirty years of training.

Whoa! Thats really impressive for one black belt, but all 3 without missing a class... wow. Quite respectable.

Someone I used to compete with had that tattoo around his calf. It looked pretty stupid in my opinion.

2nd Degree black belt in Kenpo Karate and Tae Kwon Do. 1997 NASKA competitor-2nd place Nationally in Blackbelt American Forms. Firearms activist!

Just keep in mind that this will draw attention and there are a lot of people out there when they see or hear your a blackbelt want to try and prove something. I have nothing aginst tatoos but you need to put a lot of thought into it because it lasts forever.

Sorry if you thought I was being rude, that wasn't my intention.

Just want to make you aware that some people might interpret the black armband differently, that's all. No disrespect intended to your martial achievements.

Weren't Shaolin priests traditionally branded with an animal on each forearm?

A tiger and crane might make appropriate tatoos for a karateka... unfortunately your arts seem to be the ones totally devoid of any "animal forms"... oh well...

Getting a tattoo, would be cool! I am going to be getting a special tattoo representing my school and style of fighting.

If you really want to get a blackbelt tattooed on your body. How about gewtting a tiger or dragon, heck even a cool lizard with a blackbelt on the creature or incorporated some how in the tattoo.

Just an idea.

Do what you like but a lot of people will see it as a challenge if it's public - there ARE some real morons out there. I suppose if you got a little one encircling your belly button it would look quite cute, but - as you'll have gathered - I'm simply not a fan of deliberately scarring one's skin. Take that as rude if you choose to!

Also bear in mind that visible tattoos may make you ineligible for some jobs - eg in the UK Army officers (Commissioned) or police officers in some forces.

Actually though, I can think of nothing tackier than a martial arts school or style tattooed on one's skin. Also you may well be saying to others more than you intend to (see "morons" comment, para 1!!) even if this is not your intention. But hey! It's your bod!

(impressive record though, I have to add to the others who have said this - nice one!)
