Athena
I've had two people ask me this today but i don't know and it's got me curious as welll....some people insist (i am with them) that there is a movie with pat morita (we know him dearly as Mr. Miyagi) and a girl learning karate. Does anyone know this movie? Strike first. 'Til then i will not fight you. Everytime someone calls JKD a style, Bruce turns over. Why do I love Bruce Lee? Not because he was an awesome martial artist- but because his train of thought overlapped with mine even before I knew about him. Thank you karate forums, for introducing me to Bruce Lee
joesteph
some people insist (i am with them) that there is a movie with pat morita (we know him dearly as Mr. Miyagi) and a girl learning karate. Does anyone know this movie? It was called "The Next Karate Kid" and had Hillary Swank in place of Ralph Macchio. The URL for info is:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Next_Karate_KidIt deals with a troubled teenager, which is standard, but there was a different bond formed when Mr. Miyagi now worked with a female. (I remember him speaking aloud to himself, "Boys much easier teach than girls.") A Buddhist monastery was also in the film, the monks being somber at the monastery, but lovable when at Mr. Miyagi's home. I liked the movie, but no sequel came along. ~ JoeVee Arnis Jitsu/JuJitsu

joesteph
Interesting! The boy is ten years old, so it'll be somewhat different. Maybe that's good; a pre-teen instead of a teenage character. ~ JoeVee Arnis Jitsu/JuJitsu
tallgeese
Man, it was bad enough the first time around. I always hate seeing those movies because I can always identify more with the bad guys that the heroes...bummer. http://alphajiujitsu.com/https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJhRVuwbm__LwXPvFMReMww
bushido_man96
Well, it was about due for a remake. We'll see how it goes. Since Jaden Smith is being tutored in MA now, perhaps the choreography can be a bit more convincing. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com

Like the movie "never back down" the fighting was not to bad but the story line was terrible.
