joesteph
My first instructor taught us to look at the "golden triangle". From a point between the eyes to the tip of each shoulder. Look "at" that broad area, which gets your [peripheral] vision going. You see little bits of movement that way."Golden Triangle." I like the focus and the name. ~ JoeVee Arnis Jitsu/JuJitsu
tallgeese
The concept is very solid. Personally, I'd move the area down a bit to pick up more of the movement from the lower body (hips and such), but that's just me. http://alphajiujitsu.com/https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJhRVuwbm__LwXPvFMReMww
joesteph
. . . movement from the lower body (hips and such) . . .I wonder if that comes with experience, Tallgeese? Once you can really say you know what you're doing with the Golden Triangle, you can probably train yourself to dart your eyes to that lower area (and rapidly back up) for greater awareness. ~ JoeVee Arnis Jitsu/JuJitsu
