Tenshinkan Karate . . . means 'The True Way of The Empty hand'. . . .

https://www.tenshinkan.com or https://www.tenshinkan.org.uk

Thanks for the translation and link, Bouncing Swords. When I put it into a search engine, nothing came up; when I put it in as one word, as you've written, sites come right up just fine.

I see from your link that it's offered at Stirling University. I think that it's a great thing for a college or university to offer a martial art, and at Stirling there's another offered there as well.

Hi I study Tenshinkan Karate it actually means 'The True Way of The Empty hand'. Goto https://www.tenshinkan.com or https://www.tenshinkan.org.uk

Well I wasn't to far off with my "truthfull heart way" (of the empty hand if you add Karate).

Reading Mamoru Miwa's bio, it looks like his original Karate study was with Funakoshi before going over to Chidokan.

I also noticed that he accompanied Kanazawa on a tour of Syria in the Eighties, so I am guessing his core style (of Karate anyway) was shotokan.(and I think Chidokan is a shoto off shoot as well).

As a group, do you do katas and if so are they Shotokan Katas?, or have new katas been created.
