I dont know anymore there are so many rules in "full contact taekwondo" now that it hardly should be called that..i remember when a knockout to the head was not only legal but encouraged...

If a KO is a disqualification.. then it isn't full contact. It is merely a "semi-contact" bout.. heck, even a well timed and placed "soft" punch can KO a person. It doesn't make sense.. oh well. I think they only call it "full contact" for marketing purposes, even though it isn't.

I don't think any martial art should be full contact...not intentionally. It's different if you accidentally get a broken nose, but I'm not sure I could intentionally hurt someone I train with and class as a friend.

while i agree with you participating in a full contact match should be just that...and as far as hurting my friends ...its just competition....nothing personal..we kick each other in the head a few times then we go out and have a few beers while we hold ice packs to stop the swelling :bigwink:
