BDPulver
The title is a bit misleading but I was curious on this. I know alot of us had that one or many student who had special needs in class. I remember two. The first was a beautiful young girl we had to be careful of cause of her heart. when ever she was in class we had to tone class down so that we wouldnt raise her blood pressure. After talking to her father for awhile (now at the time she was only 5 yrs younger then me). He told me she had a rare condition and the doctor thought MA would help. Now since I havent seen her in over 10 yrs, my best friend has told me she did make shodan and ni dan and is alot stronger. The other student was another young girl who I didnt know was sick during the whole time she took class. She had leukimia. She unfortunately was diagnosed terminal one day ( i think thats what doctors called it) and died. Her parents came to me and told me I was the best teacher/mentor she ever had cause I would never let her give up.Who was your most memorable/special student in your class?? Chikara
Wow, they're both special in the good and bad ways. I can't help but respect and admire their spirit and determination. Chikara karate es el amor de mi vida.
tori
I have thought about this for quite awhile and I cannot come up with any one, single, special student. I enjoy any student, of any age, that really takes an interest in Martial Arts. You know the ones who show up to extra classes, practice diligently, and have great questions. Those are the students that I look forward to seeing. The ones that make me want to try harder to be a good teacher. Live life, train hard, but laugh often.
