I do like the movies.

There is an author that is carrying on the Bourne series, and there is a book out: The Bourne Betrayal, I believe. I wonder why Universal doesn't use it for the background?

Yes the new books are by a different guy and they do have a very different feel to them. Then again, bear in mind that the original novels were written in the late 70's early 80's (I think).

The thing is, the movies have very little to do with the books other than a shared title and a great idea for a core charater. That being said, I'm a fan of both the books and the movies. You just have to threat them as two different animals.

The Bourne Identity and The Bourne Supremacy were written by Robert Ludlum, but The Bourne Legacy was written by Eric Van Lustbauder, who was ghostwriting for Ludlum, I believe.
