This is gives an overview of the Grappling skills used and discussed in the Flos Duellatorum, written by Fiore dei Liberi.

Enjoy.

I would certainly take a look if I were nearby. Glad these guys are keeping that stuff alive.

Careful what you wish for Tallgeese.

I remember a Baron Alfred? That is out of Chicago that is big into these. I see if I can get more info.

There is a natural crossover for SCA and MA through these.

I have had experience in the SCA. It is nice, and the fighting can be fun, but I don't care for their restrictions so much, and their fighting is an augmented form of stick fighting as opposed to the actual combat techniques of Medieval Swordsmen.

It is fun, though, and I do enjoy it.

I heartily agree. SCA fighting is a sport, it is not actual or realistic combat. It is fun, and it isn't choreographed.

Safe, and fun, but it is a romanticized version of medieval foot combat.
