pittbullJudoka Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 I just read that the UFC is throwing together a card for July 19th to counter Afflictions first show on the same day. But the biggest news coming out of that is that Anderson Silva is moving to 205 to fight James Irvin. We have all seen what Anderson can do at 185. How will the extra wieght effect him or will it? Is Irvin really ready for this caliber of fighter? I've often wanted to see Anderson fight at 205 but give him someone that's really going to test him. No disrespect towards Irvin but I see this as a can for Silva. And the second best part of this news is this card is rumored to be on Spike . Which means we get to see a UFC without having to part fifty or sixty bucks.
BLueDevil Posted June 19, 2008 Posted June 19, 2008 Id rather see him fight a big name, which pushes me to order the Affliction PPV. Plus I havent seen Fedor fight in a while, curious to see if he got any ring rust There is no teacher but the enemy.

seersin Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 WOW,I've never pad 60 dollars for a UFC,but that s besides the point I don't see how you can call the Sandman a can,I mean I'm not saying hes going to ruin Silvas 205 debut, but James hits pretty hard,I know I know Silva also has a very impressive JJ game,Im an Anderson Silva fan,but Saying Irvin is a can is a little extreme, but alas I'll be DVRing the UFC. pittbullJudoka Posted June 24, 2008 Author Posted June 24, 2008 I don't mean Irvin any disrepect but in my opinion he's not an A level fighter. You have to admit that he's not exactly fought many top tier fighters. I mean there'sonly a handful of guys he's fought in the UFC and with exception of one fighter the rest I put in the B to C+ catagory. But again just my viewon things.
unknownstyle Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 anderson silva is a magnificent striker, probably the most dangerous in all of mma. but if irvin wants it bad enough then he will figure out a way to take him out of all his confort zones. and if he does win people will still make the excuse that anderson isnt fighting at his weight and try to take the win from him. i think it will be exciting and silva will have his hands full "Live life easy and peacefully, but when it is time to fight become ferocious."
pittbullJudoka Posted June 27, 2008 Author Posted June 27, 2008 I'm looking foward to seeing how Anderson handles not being the physically bigger fighter for a change. I'm insterestedjust for the fact he's going up a weight class.
pittbullJudoka Posted July 4, 2008 Author Posted July 4, 2008 More news broke yesterday with Anderson. He wants tobounce between middle weight and light heavy. Going after the 205 lb belt and defend both belts on a regular basis. He also feels he needs to be fighting more often to prove he's the best fighter in the world.
bushido_man96 Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 I think bouncing between weight classes like that would prove a challenge in itself. I am not sure how practical of an idea that would be. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
G95champ Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Its not a bad fight to go up weight classes. (General George S. Patton Jr.) "It's the unconquerable soul of man, and not the nature of the weapon he uses, that ensures victory."
