samoht Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 When im sparring and take a blow on the jaw I get a sharp head-ache like pain in the back of my head for around 30 seconds to a minute. Worried my brain might me banging against my skull. Is this normal??
tallgeese Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 The feeling sounds normal enough to me. However, don't take this stuff lightly. If you're worried, ask a doctor. http://alphajiujitsu.com/https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJhRVuwbm__LwXPvFMReMww
tori Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 It is normal to have that feeling when struck in the jaw. It absolutely can cause a concussion. Too many of those are dangerous. Try to block those strikes. Live life, train hard, but laugh often.
samoht Posted June 14, 2008 Author Posted June 14, 2008 Ok thanks. So no need to worry. My neck is often very stiff after sparring too. I need to relax more
NewEnglands_KyoSa Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Yea, this is normal but it's called a concussion too many of them can take you out of contact activity and do brain damage for life. "Smile. Show everyone that today you're stronger than you were yesterday."
Merciless Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Sounds about normal. You're wearing a mouthpiece, right?
bushido_man96 Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 If you are being struck hard enough, then you may be getting light concussions. You may want to consult your doctor. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com

ps1 Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 Yes. It's normal. That's why Boxers aim for the jaw! Knockout City!!! Be careful! "It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenius."
NewEnglands_KyoSa Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 go to a doctor... and STOP GETTING HIT Couldn't have said it better myself. "Smile. Show everyone that today you're stronger than you were yesterday."
