The BB of C Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 I was wondering if anyone here has ever trained with a champion in their respective arts? It doesn't have to be popular world champion, but anyone who you view that "made it big" in the world of MA competition. My Kuk Sool Won instructor was Gary Evarts, a five-time world champion in the style.
Zanshin Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Sorry guys I just couldn't let this opportunity pass by.The fact that there are sooooo many "world champions" in ma is one of the reasons why perhaps, we aren't taken that seriously by grown ups!I mean, the Jim Carey sketch springs to mind straight away, and for those who have not seen it : BTW not disrespecting in anyway the Champs you guys have trained with, they are there for a reason. Just trying to inject a bit of humour Bushi before you chop me. "The difference between the possible and impossible is one's will""saya no uchi de katsu" - Victory in the scabbbard of the sword. pineapple Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 I was fortunate enough to have a couple of lessons from Chuck Liddell and I did some light sparring with Dennis Alexio. What works works

Holds a lot of belts in different organzations and such. The man knows how to fight plus he was/is a great trainer!
Ozpunker Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 I haven't been quite as lucky as you guys. But my biggest claim to fame is that I got to spar with a guy who fought Wolverine/Hugh Jackman in the upcoming X-men movie lol. I think that maybe the scene might be getting cut though. The guy is pretty amazing in terms of the fancy spinning kicks and stuff he does but I think it's all too flashy and not practical enough..... In saying that, I could barely get a glove on him.
BLueDevil Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 I trained with Evan Tanner a while back before he became champ There is no teacher but the enemy.
