I have a friend who does I would almost take that over a gun. He has a special military kind that is not available to public in my state. He sprayed a little on a napkin. It was about the worst feeling I ever had. Nobody on this planet is tough enough to take a shot of that in the face and still fight. JMO

Unfortunately mace is illegal over here, and yet many American women (and not as many men) carry it in their handbag, unaware that using it constitutes an assault under any circumstances.

Hahahahahaha. You should have seen the expression on my face when I read the thread title. I thought you meant mace as in the stick with the metal spiked ball(s) attached to it with chains. lol I dont carry it because I dont have it. I know of a mace container that looks like a pen. If I did carry it, thats what it would be in. Yeah, that government issue stuff is harsh. My mom (trooper) has some that she hasta use. You cant be in the same room with that junk when its sprayed. I hope I never get any of that in my eyes.

I can remember a time about 25-30 years ago when my Mom bought my Grandma a thing of mace. It was never used. Fortunately.

A while back someone asked me if I had ever thought about carrying it. My view is that I would be highly likely to drop it at the wrong time and would wind up being the one to get sprayed.

I'd quite happily carry a mace, I'm not aware of any laws which refer to it specifically so I could probably build up a decent case to let me carry it.

The chemical spray though is definitely illegal.
