Bushido-Ruach
Hi guys, I finally figured it out!!!As the subject line goes, which do you think is better and why...the "pay as you go" charges (some have said $5.00 a lesson) or monthly charges. What are the reasons why you prefer one over the other?Looking for the "pro's" and "con's" of it all.Just trying to get an idea for the best scenario for when I (hopefully) open my school in a few months. Thanks to all who reply! bushido_man96
I prefer to pay by the month. That way, I don't have to worry about constantly bringing money with me to pay to go to class that day. I don't always have cash on me, so I like to pay by the month. I also have an EFT set up, so that each month, the money comes directly out of my account. That way, I don't ever have to worry about being paid up; I just show up and worry about training. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
KarateEd
I am also partial to paying by the month. First, I have always paid this way and am just used to it. Second, it is easier for me not to have to pay every time I show up for training. Ed Ed
DWx
When I first started our club used to operate a pay-as-you go system every lesson but that meant would would spend up to 10 mins of the lesson doing admin and it was just one more thing for me to remember. I have a S/o now so the money comes straight out of my account every month. I still pay in cash if I want to do additional lessons but try to keep that aside until the end of class. Philosophical One
Pay as you go can be a good option, but monthly is better for instructors... that way you get the fees regardless of the students particular motivation to train.I would say it is harder to sign people up to a monthly fee schedule but more valuable in the long term.Gyms offer both types but they make sure casual works out to be more expensive... we do the same - we offer both for our Dojo. Any stepmum's out there? http://stepfamily.stepfamilyforum.com

Paying monthly means that the student will also ensure that they turn up to your lesson. Particularly after a hard day or whatever, there are a coupla time when you really can't be bothered to get your stuff together and travel halfway across town. Of course once you get there you feel it was definately worthwhile but if you've paid in advance you will want to make an effort to go because you've spent that money.
