Groinstrike
Can't go wrong putting Bruce at the top of this list. The Gracies as a whole need props too for again revolutionizing the arts. Norris is a personal fav of mine for his early influence on my desire to study (not to mention that Walker is guilty pleasure of mine ).Walker!?!?!?!, cmon your better than that
MasterPain
My instructors- Life would have been different without them.Bruce Lee- Do not allow limitations of style.Niccolo Machiavelli- The man just understood human nature. The Spartans- Discipline and no nonsense. The Vikings- Imagine being shieldbashed and attacked with an ax by a crazy guy who lives on a boat. Scary.Royce Gracie- A reality check in the 90s.Ninja Turtles- awesomeness.Sho'nuff- Not only is he the master, he's also the shogun of Harlem. Jay
Jean Claude Van Damme, not only because i love his movies but because he proved how good a fighter he is with his full contact fights under his real name Van Varenburg, only loss he really had was a TKO if i remember rightly, the rest were wins with predominantly first round knockouts. Plus, he's a really nice guy and my inspiration for hours of pain aquiring the side splits. This is interesting. I have never heard this about Van Damme. I always was under the impression that he never competed in anything like full contact. Can you point me to this information?Just to clarify the JCVD point. Yes he was a successful fighter. In fact he has a full contact fight coming up in 2011 against a muai thai fighter. Apparently he recently had a minor heart attack while filming but he has denied it so not really sure what to make of it. He is said to have been doing alot of cardio for his fight. I think his opponent is like 10yrs younger but I hope he will do well im very much a fan. The key to everything is continuity achieved by discipline.
