Throwdown0850 Posted April 1, 2008 Author Posted April 1, 2008 Kicks are good, just need to make sure you don't kick above where your balance/speed will allow. What kind of Kenpo do you study ThrowDown?American Kenpo. You must become more than just a man in the mind of your opponent. -Henri Ducard
shotokanka92 Posted July 14, 2008 Posted July 14, 2008 throwdown your great for doing that. someone could have got hurt and luckily someone on teh bad side did. and for this you deserve a medal “I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.” ~ Bruce Lee

Throwdown0850 Posted July 15, 2008 Author Posted July 15, 2008 in fact I think that everybody stayed safe was enough of a reward to me. You must become more than just a man in the mind of your opponent. -Henri Ducard

Clash Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 in fact I think that everybody stayed safe was enough of a reward to me.A statement of a true martial artist, and the fact that you felt bad about having to use your training on someone just further proves that statement. Good work.
Tiger1962 Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 I agree with what someone said earlier. You REACTED to the way he ACTED toward you in that he attacked you to hit you & you defended yourself. If you were my relative I would hope you would have done exactly what you did. Let's imagine what could have happened if he was successful in hitting you with say, a bat or if he had a knife? Don't be hard on yourself. I think your actions were justified.I hope I never have to use the skills I learned but if I do, I hope I am quick enough to react like you did to save myself from a knuckle sandwich (or worse!) "Never argue with an idiot because they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience." ~ Dilbert
Chikara Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 And what if the guy was a wrestler in HS? He'd have been able to keep you from throwing him. Besides, it sounds like it was a long range attack that was coming at you. Judo is completely short range. Chikara karate es el amor de mi vida.
bristopen Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 Tell me throwdown, if you had put the guy down after a throw, would you have been able to control him on the ground ? If not, I think you have just done the right thing. Besides, putting somebody behind your back is too much risky I think.
