Throwdown0850 Posted March 7, 2008 Posted March 7, 2008 Training in martial arts isn't just about learning self-defense! There's so much more to get out of it.What about the discipline you learn? Learning to set goals and achieve them. Learning to handle stressful situations, like when testing. How about the comradery of a dojo and the friendships you make? I took some judo as a kid, and I can't tell you how many times learning how to fall has saved me from injury, especially when playing other sports. The list goes on and on.I agree that it is more than self defense, but everybody can honestly say that the main reason they started martial arts was to learn to fight, period.. until your there for a while and realize its more than that. You must become more than just a man in the mind of your opponent. -Henri Ducard
bushido_man96 Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 That is a good point, Throwdown. To either fight, or defend themselves from those who would try to hurt them. Essentially, the same road. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
