DWx Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 Instep is so cool, would love to be able to do it. My favourite is 2x 1" no spacers with an elbow or I can just about manage it (on a good day) with a knifehand. Kicks can't get past 2 boards and am too terrified to try bricks or tiles. Most creative break I've seen in person is this lad backflipped and broke a board in the middle. Never in a million years would I be able to do that. "Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it." ~ Confucius

yamesu Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Personal fav's are high round kick, high front kick and jumping back or front kick breaks. Knife hand and Forefist/Backfist breaks also I got sick of buying pine boards, as you really start to chew through them after a while. An alternative ive been doing for a while (at home) is to get a large baking dish (pref' square and 2-3 inches deep) and fill it with water before placing in a freezer overnight and then thawing the ice out of the tray carefully to gain a nice thick sheet. Problem is I can only fit like three/four trays max in my freezer so can only do that many at once. It certainly looks cool to shatter through though! Only problem is i have cut the instep of my foot on occasion (only minor) when doing high round kicks (jodan mawashi) breaks.Much cheaper than pine boards "We did not inherit this earth from our parents. We are borrowing it from our children."

The BB of C Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 I broke four (wet and moldy) fence posts with an axe kick once.that is certainly a unique break. i've never heard of such a thing, that's cool. but i don't think my neighbors would appreciate me busting down our fence with my hands and feet My older brother, at the time, worked in landscaping and one of his jobs was to rip down an old picket fence. He brought it home. As soon as my little brother and I saw it, we dismantled it half of it even further, propped and stacked them up with lawn chairs and cinderblocks and spent the day punching and kicking and chopping posts into pieces. Then we burned the other half of it later that night.

ShoriKid Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 I've done six unspaced boards with reverse punch and with knife hands. So, nothing really special. Two unspaced with a ridge hand. Broke one board the other night that someone held losely in hone hand with a snap side kick to see if I could do it. Want to try a free falling board at some point just for kicks. ps1 Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 The only time I tried was at a tournament. I saw the event was going to happen and just decided to try. I bought 5 boards and one patio brick.Broke two with a side kick (being held of course)Two with the reverse punch (again, being held by a person)Patio brick with a hammer fistLast board was flat on the ground and broken by a windmill palm.Got third place:) The guy who won first broke alot of stuff with his head. I decided there was no longer any point to doing it because I wasn't willing to do what it took to earn first place. "It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenius."
