Quickest to Blackbelt status?

Recommended Posts

The tradional rules of ranking , and how long it should be between belt gradings. Because it has largly increased over the years.

I think that there is no 1 style , and that to truly become a great martial artist and person you must take information from where ever you can.

No the time is not the same anymore , depending on what school you go to.

it depends on how hard you work

That's really what it comes down to. Somebody that trains 8 hours a day, 7 days a week is going to progress much faster than someone who does 1 hour, twice a week. But like everyone else says, you shouldn't worry about it. All a blackbelt says is that you know the basics and are ready to begin learning in a martial arts system.

:D Well put!

There are lots of schools that will let you go as fast as you want as long as you pay. You can also buy certificates to way you are a 5,6,7 degree black belt.

But really, if you were to demonstrate what you know, would you want to look foolish wearing a black belt with little skills? I rather have a brown belt and know that I have skills. Belt color doesn't matter if you cannot back it up with knowledge and physical form.

It should take you around three years training 5 days a week to get to black belt. Its also good to train in more than one art to have broad skills.

Train hard, be the best.

There's not a particular MA that can quickly give you a black belt. That depends more on the School and organization. In some karate school you can test for a black belt in 2 years while in other is 6 years and that applies for most martial arts.

Right now, as a far as i know, BJJ outside Brazil is the martial art that takes the longest to give a black belt which is 10 years or a little more. I've heard that in Brazil you can get your BB in 5 years.
