All of the following arts have failed to overcome the greatness known as Bill Duff: Karate, Pankration, Sambo, Savate, MMA, and even the dreaded ninja. Since we all know that only a ninja can defeat a ninja, we are left with one simple fact. Bill Duff = Ninja. The fight quest guys have no chance.

Naaa....didn't you see the TKD episode? Duff gets KOed by TKD. So, just bring in the TKD guys!

Pirates, they could be pirates! If anything can take on a ninja and hope to survive it's pirates.

For seeing the various regional styles, Human Weapon wins out. For sheer hard core training and ending fight challenge, Fight Quest takes the cake.

Please explain how an 'art' can overcome a person! :-?

I'm pretty sure he was joking Traditional Dan. It wasn't an attack on the effectiveness of those arts.

As for the pirates...that's a great idea! But they should be cursed pirates...they're the toughest.

Well I finally caught some episodes of Fight Quest! I must say- I think I like it better than Human weapon. However I am a bit conflicted on the matter- Fight Quest is a (more or less) serious look at a martial art. They don't go for the tourist attractions, and for the most part the fights are not held back (comparison in a little bit). Human Weapon on the other hand is kind of...well, fluff. The history is horrible, many techniques are played up for mysticism, and they even mention the 'nose to the brain' myth! Also, many of the fights are more or less light sparring matches (there are of course exceptions). HOWEVER, it is entertaining. And really, that's what it is- entertainment, not enlightenment. A great example is the ninjitsu episode where they go to the equivalent of a playground, learn from primarily non ninjitsu guys, and try and spar guys who have a policy of no sparring (and do quite well against them). Despite that, it was fun to watch, and I think that sums up human weapon nicely.

FQ on the other hand, definitely has a fighter's mindset. They are there to train hard, not travel around. They also don't want much held back, and will say when a technique isn't always the first thing you should rely on. This appeals to me after seeing the evolution from 'Fight Science' to that one British show to Human weapon. Mind, it is still entertaining, but it doesn't sacrifice too much realism for entertainment's sake which I appreciate. Speaking of which- the fights are much much better. Just compare the intensity of the kyokushin spar in HW to FQ and you'll see that there is a big difference. Anyhow, I plan to post some reveiws up soon (and maybe a movie review?), so look for that.

I saw a little bit of the Hapkido episode of Fight Quest, and I like what I saw. I would like to see more, but my schedule doesn't always let me.

Yea, I agree. Fight Quest is a way better show IMO. They train and fight harder than the other show and this last Krav Maga show was awsome. Those guys train insanely, especially that girl's school. Loved it, I was cracking up when the host was saying that he thought she was somewhat crazy.

The Hapkido show was very good too, Ive put this on my favorites to watch list.

That episode was crazy- you could tell that her students were terrified of her :P
