Wearing club logos or clothes on the street?

Let's create a general MA t-shirt that says "WE'RE WATCHING". Martial Arts Federation or something like that. It can look really sporty and official. The general attitude of people that would wear this would be that others are safer when I'm around.

What do you think?

Something else along the lines of what I was talking about earlier with giving a away a tactical advantage.

I watched a video on YouTube titled something like "How not to get mugged." The majority of what it came down to was the way you projected yourself.

It said stuff like walk around with snarl on your face while, wearing a stained white t-shirt. There were a couple gems in there. "Take out the iPod" for instance, and buying a cheap jacket from a thrift store to wear over your nice clothes if you're going into a bad part of town.

From what I do understand about the would-be mugger mind. Is they, just like pretty much any other criminal are looking for crimes of opportunity. Just like locking your car doors will deter most thoughts of theft. Being alert and aware of your surroundings would more than likely deter a mugger. Having a smile on your face and paying attention to what's around you probably says something like "Yeah I see you and can pick you out of a line-up."

So with that in mind wearing gear might in some ways provide a deterrent because guys looking for an easy score would probably just assume to keep moving since you'd more than likely put up a fight.

And there's the rub, what might prevent one attack might provoke another. I guess one might argue that the attacks prevented by presenting oneself as a tough guy/gal, via clothing and body language, are potentially more serious than the attacks that come about by appearing this way.

This may be the case. However, the former are usually going to be crimes of violence, where you will be attacked without word or knowledge of the attack. Getting jumped, basically. The latter usually ends up like to roosters puffing their chests up, and taunting each other. At least at this point, you know it is a mutual confrontation.

I do not see anything wrong with wearing your club's logo. I do and I have not a problem this far. Usely I get ask where my school is located. But I see your guys point though.

Wearing Club logos and cuh is how I found the place I studies Krav Maga. A off duty cop was at a store i was also at and had The name on his bomber jacket so we started up a discussion. I asked him where he studied it and he gave me the school's website and I had been there ever since.

I like wearing my baggy Bruce Lee shirts and TKD dragon shirts. If anyone asks, I just like the movies.

I sometimes wear a tee shirt or sweatshirt with a logo but not to show off or anything. I just like to wear it, just like I like to wear certain other things in my closet.

My spouse, on the other hand, does NOT like to wear ANY martial arts logos in public.
