The BB of C Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 I found a video a while ago that would relate well to this discussion. I dug it back up for the occassion. What do you think of that?
bushido_man96 Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 I am not really sure what to make of that. It looks like the kick made good contact, but not hard contact. In that narrow corridor, I am surprised he tried to pull it off. I am not sure how technically sound the kick was, though. But, it did appear to get results. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
bushido_man96 Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 I know that these are choreographed Capoeira fight scenes, but I always found them enjoyable.I was just astounded by this guy in The Quest. I thought that he was probably the best athlete of all the fighters that they had on the set. The Kung Fu guy pulled in a close second for me.Fight one Also, this last scene from Only the Strong, with Mark Dacascos. Not Mark so much, but I heard that the bad guy in the movie here is an acutal Maestrea. I just like watching the actual guys with the experience really show it off.Final fight scene. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com

The BB of C Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 Exactly. Something I remembered earlier this morning about that is . The first time I saw it, I didn't think it looked that hard at all. Or very fast for that matter. Then I actually experienced one for myself. I was way surprised.

bushido_man96 Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 That 360 Degree round kick can be a great counter move, as seen in the second video by DWx. In the first video, it had great results as well, but I wouldn't throw it as an offensive kick like that. I also would have made sure to have my hands up as well.Good vids, guys! https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com

I get so mad when people say that
bushido_man96 Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 In a tournament setting, they do have some applications. Outside of it though, you do have to take them into context. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
