One of my favorites is to let the person in the middle close his/her eyes, everyone in the circle has different pads or with breaking boards. They all take different positions, when you open your eyes, as fast and as concise as you can strike all opponents until going through all of them. The trick is for all people in circle to set up for different angle/height kicks and punches. But as with everyone else this is not for beginners. I love to instruct adults and children in the Martial arts. Self defense is my big thing. If I can teach someone what to do to defend themself I have done my job.
NewEnglands_KyoSa Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 yea this is a common drill and we use it from time to time. depending on the instructor it's either 'the circel of death'(usually for adults) or 'the circle of life'(usually for kids). first we usually start with just grabs then we'll do hand strikes, then kicks. its fun and tough, i like it. One person is in the middle and must must spar EVERYONE in the circle before he can get out. Another version, equally as fun, is the "Gauntlet of Pain" where students line up in two lines and one person must travel the length of the gauntlet by sparring one after another, zigzag down the lines. Upon reaching the first attacker, he jump out and attack, and then the defender would execute a quick combination, and then move onto the next person.
