Maybe they just don't like the look of their legs :D I'd take the trousers over shorts any day.

I agree about the mobility point though. Probably a lot easier to kick in.

K-1 is a Japanese promotion and traditionally in Japan, kickboxers have always worn shorts. Today's K-1 also features many Dutch fighters, who's roots trace back mainly to Japan and Thailand, hence the short pants.

An exception might be when Benny Urquidez started fighting in Japan in the 1970's while wearing full length pants. Many of the Japanese fighters also started wearing long pants to emulate Urquidez
