Today's K-1 also features many Dutch fighters, who's roots trace back mainly to Japan and Thailand, hence the short pants. An exception might be when Benny Urquidez started fighting in Japan in the 1970's while wearing full length pants. Many of the Japanese fighters also started wearing long pants to emulate Urquidez
