Montana
I own several handguns and several knives...my questions is...why are we choosing one...for what? Selfdefense? If you don't want to stand behind our troops, please..feel free to stand in front of them.Student since January 1975---4th Dan, retired due to non-martial arts related injuries. bushido_man96
This is a sticky question. First of all, how much distance is there between the to of us? Second, do we have the weapons out already? Do I have a gun, but holstered, and he have a knife drawn? Or vise versa? https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com

bushido_man96
If he has a knife drawn, and I have a gun holstered, and he is within 5 feet of me, I am going to have to be moving back quick to draw my gun, or I don't have a chance. However, if we have our weapons at the ready, I'll take gun. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
marie curie
If it doesn't change what the other guy has, definately a gun! It's handy far away, close up, wherever.I think that if you are assuming that the knife is out of it's holder, then you have to also assume that the gun is. dete
I think "drawing" should be considered as a major point. http://www.freewebs.com/knife4street
DWx
For self defense I'd think I'd choose the gun. Less people are willing to risk their chances against a firearm and hopefully the attacker would be more compliant.
