50inches
Last week I downloaded a video of the 2007 world championships in taekwondo. I had seen highlights before on youtube, so I figured it should be somewhat exciting. I gotta tell you, I really think that it is the most boring form of martialarts competation I have ever seen. You get 1 minute of them standing and mesuring the right distance, and then both guys throw the roundhouse at the same time and usually they don't hit properly and just end up in something that is supposed to be a clinch. I watched for like half an hour and just had to turn off. I´m not looking to badmouth any taekwondo guys in here, I actually like it and use some of their techniques in my own game, but something really has to be done about the competition part to make it more interesting to watch IMO. https://www.realistic-martial-arts.net
DWx
What style of TKD was it, Olympic or something along the lines of ITF (in which case which ITF)? Sometimes both fighters are wary of throwing techniques because they know the other person will react instantly so the matches can be real boring. I think WTF/Olympic TKD has (or is going to) introduce some new rules to make it more interesting to watch. Something along the lines of a technique has be thrown every 20 secs? bushido_man96
DWx is right. WTF sparring rules are supposed to have some new implementations to help with the pace of the matches. There can be some good ones, too. Many of the guys are counter fighters, so no one likes to lead off. Too much of a point game. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
