ps1 Posted September 13, 2008 Author Posted September 13, 2008 I'd love to see some takedowns if you havent already made some.Do you mean wrestling style takedowns, judo style throws, or some that are good for jiu jitsu competition? I'd be happy to get some more on there. As it is if you follow the link below, you'll see three very basic takedowns.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDJraM4ARNgIf you're looking for others, let me know. bushido_man96 Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 I like those simple options, ps1. I think those could work well into my Hapkido work. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
DWx Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Your videos are really good ps1. Your good at explaining because even I can follow on. "Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it." ~ Confucius

joesteph Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 (edited) f you follow the link below, you'll see three very basic takedowns. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDJraM4ARNg I'm now being introduced to takedowns at my dojang, ps1, and these videoed moves may be basic, but basics are what we build on. I was not unaware of the third takedown, but the first two, going backward instead of forward (and not being your opponent's cushion when you both land), were a pleasant surprise to me. joesteph Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Although my art isn't Judo or JiuJitsu, the posted basic throws by ps1 were interesting enough to have me poke around YouTube. There's one that, the way the camera filmed the throw, I can't see how she threw her opponent. It's at:http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=d8GnKZYcZgA&feature=relatedThe woman throws the noticeably taller man, and it's so effortless from what I can see, that I don't know if she didn't actually just "tip a scale" so-to-speak. But if she did, how would she have kept a strong central position? I doubt she simply bent at the waist.Any ideas? _____ _____ ~ JoeVee Arnis Jitsu/JuJitsu
bushido_man96 Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 That one looked kind of choreographed, if you ask me. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
joesteph Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 That one looked kind of choreographed, if you ask me.Probably why the lower part of the body isn't within the camera shot, just the upper part. I still wonder, though, even if the guy thrown went along with the throw, what she would have done to perform that move. Hollywood . . . Bah! Humbug! ~ JoeVee Arnis Jitsu/JuJitsu
bushido_man96 Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 I think she would have dipped her hips low, to get under him, then stand up and toss. That's my guess. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
