I have tried some of it. Not as effective as he would like it to be. BTW, not to be a smarty pants, but a Antonio Schembri and a few others used it long before Bravo made a name out of it.

That type of system has merit. However, it is certainly not for everyone. I grappled a guy who was attempting to use it a while back. He was an Eddie Bravo purple belt. All he did was make it annoying for me to pass the guard. He just wasn't flexible enough to make the rubber guard work for him. As far as the half guard stuff...I prefer Saulo Ribeiro's methods.

I'm going to try to, but I'm not even flexible enough to get Mission Control yet :(

I have taken privates with a a couple of Eddies guys. They are good how ever they developed the flexibilty to use it.

I mostly focused on the half guard. I did enjoy the twister also. It is just a fun submission.

Their Half Guard stuff is really different than any other half guard stuff. Particularly because they keep ahold of the grapevine. I don't like it as much because I feel like I don't have enough movement. That's why I prefer Saulo's stuff.

yes, quite extensively.

at the time everyone in my grappling class was learning his stuff with great enthusiasm so we learned a lot very quickly, and discovered many things.

imo, his style of JJ is great to help you understand BJJ better. That is what it did for me.

Same way in which Tony Blauer's material helped me understand Karate better.

I think the best part of Eddie's system is actually in his half-guard material. When sparring, rubber guard & twister may not come up, but the half guard can almost always come up if you want it to.

ps1, I don't play the lock down (grape vine) game that much any more. I found it less moveable and more often then not I was placed more on my back. Maybe if I trained wth the 10th planent guys more that style of half guard would be better for me. but I only took 3 privates total from 2 of eddies guys.

I gave an Eddie Bravo book to my coach and he has been playing around with it and using it very seccesful with his training partners. So I defiently think it has merit.
