I think that perhaps that comment was made in direction toward their style of competition. TKD and Karate have elbow strikes, but you don't see them done in TKD or Karate Competitions. I would guess that this is what they were getting at.

The next episode will be on Marine combat training and should air next friday- I am interested to see if they include a lot of weapons training in this one.

right, the 21st. I think that they might do some rifle work from the photos...but really, isn't marksmanship/learning to handle a gun a modern martial art? If you look at the old Jujitsu schools (ryus) weapons are just as big a part of the curriculum as unarmed fighting.
