plat Posted June 30, 2007 Posted June 30, 2007 Hey guys thanks for the response, some good info there. I have decided to do just Tae Kwon Do for like 4 or 5 months and then look into MT & BJJ, but I wanted to know if this place is a McDojo or not, EVERY place where I live is a McDojo, I always see kids that are like 3 years old wearing brown belts and stuff kinda funny lol. But this place says that it's traditional so w/e I don't know Im going to go and talk with the owner see what he says. Anyways thanks again and the link is at the bottom.http://www.moonsleetkd.com/
ninjanurse Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 Just from a brief viewing of the site I would say it looks like their (the Black Belt qualifiers) techniques are good-and there is a mix of adults and kids in the group. . I would definitely talk with the instructor/owner about your goals and concerns. bushido_man96 Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 It will be very difficult for many of us to be able to tell you if a place is a McDojo by looking at a website and a few pictures. The best thing you can do is visit, watch some classes, ask some questions, and then assess the place as best as you can.Hopefully, you find what you are looking for. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
The BB of C Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 I'm not sure. It looks like it could be one. But I can't tell. Do you know where I can find videos of actual training inside the school?
frightmaster Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 I would also look into checking if the school is affilated with any kind of international federration such as ITF/WTF. This can tell you a lot about what is taught and such. February 24, 2007 I received my Black Belt in WTF TKD.
