yingampyang Posted February 4, 2008 Posted February 4, 2008 Ive taken a break from doing any type of MA for a couple years now. Recently I have been wanting to get back into it. The problem is, I do not know which style of MA I want to take. I am looking for something that involves about equal or slightly more hand work than feet work. Another thing that im looking for, is a dojo that trains hard and hits hard. When I did TKD it was mainly kicking, katas and hardly any exercise. Also I dont remember learning any real techniques other than different types of kicks. I was no beginner either, was 3 belts from black. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Also if anyone else lives in the cincinnati area and knows/goes to a school like this please let me know. Thx!If you want something that gives alot of hand techniques you should try western boxing or Wing Chun. Also many types of karate have alot of exceise work and have an equal balance between feet and hands. Either try the ones ive mentioned above or types of kickboxing that would also suite your needs. I think that there is no 1 style , and that to truly become a great martial artist and person you must take information from where ever you can.
