SaiFightsMS Posted May 30, 2002 Posted May 30, 2002 I also practice my kobudo skills the same way. I move forward and backwards and work on turns to both sides. Then I work the techniques from both sides of the body. Then do combinations from both sides.
KarateMom Posted May 30, 2002 Posted May 30, 2002 Going for the Gold! I have to do katas 1,2,3 on June 14. ~*KarateMom*~
SeiDoRyu Posted May 31, 2002 Posted May 31, 2002 Hi, Yes, Our sensei sometimes makes us do the katas backwards or starting from strange angles like diagonally across a room facing the corner to see if we really know the kata or if we are just going through the motions. In most katas (well, most of the one we do)you are meant to start and finish in the same place. Just my opinions, toast me if you want ------------Understanding what you do not understand is far more important than what you think you know.
KarateMom Posted June 16, 2002 Posted June 16, 2002 I had to do 3 Junior Katas #1. upper Parre, hammer fist, head punch, front kick. #2. High block, back fist, body punch, round kick. #3. 1 and 2 together ~*KarateMom*~
