I wouldnt put my face on TV....and talk cocky , with the sword.... telling how did I attacked the guy....

Some members of the same gang could see the video and take revenge on that kid.......And more probably if their buddy is going to jail.

It is not about the item being stolen, but the idea that folks are not obeying the law of the land.

Anyone who enters my home to steal will get both barrels of number 2 buck.

Wouldn't have to chase anyone, just call in the body baggers.

Dead folks don't sue.

That boy is insane... As if a ps3 is worth that! An xbox 360 on the other hand.... :brow:

Lmao, while I kind of understand your thinking Gypsy Rover, you have to remember that dead folks' relatives do sue

I'm kinda shocked to hear some of the responses! The boy responded! Not only was the playstation in the house so was he and his sister! So many of these things turn into horrific scenes. I feel he did what he felt he should do. It wasn't childish and fun to him until he got on tv. Then his age will show once the threat and adrenaline pass. This could have been different in so many ways. And to say the child could have been sitting in jail??? His HOME was forced into! When did we start needing someone else to protect us? To tell us when it's ok to defend ourselves?

Better to be judged by 12, than to be carried by six.

The boy was perfectly justified, he even could have killed the robber if he wanted to.

Interesting you say this. If someone pulls a gun on you and treatens to kill you are you legally allowed to kill him with your sword. Morally I would say you are. In the US im not sure over here certainly the courts wouldn't react so kindly.

The key to everything is continuity achieved by discipline.

IMO someone that age ought to know better than to risk his life over a games console

Where he took it too far was where he actually chased the guy down the street with the sword. If he'd have actually hit him outside the home, he'd be sitting in prison right now instead of playing his beloved ps3.

Did you guys miss the part where there was a burglar in his little sister's bedroom? I can't think of a court that would fault him for giving chase!

Everyone wants to judge people put in circumstance that are stressful, threatening and out of the ordinary.

I mean how many things are we supposed to take into consideration?? Rules, laws, threats, how far does this person intend to go how far should I go? We do things repeatedly so that we just respond and when someone does... we criticize them for how they handled things we have not experienced. Most people would have been paralyzed with fear and been a victim. Well when the victim turns the attacker good for them. i don't need the law or government to protect me. If i can't defend myself or my own then i don't deserve it. This has been the law of every living thing since the beginning.

This may be an event that speeds this child into something great. He overcame a potential deadly situation and didn't scream for help. He handled his business. He protected himself, his sister and his property.

I agree, it is a good thing he defended his home and property, and others in it. There is no need to become a victim, or remain a victim.
