Rubik's Cube

Can anyone solve the damn things?

I found mine in the drawer the other day and have been sitting here trying to solve it... no luck yet....

Loads of vids on youtube about how to solve em but it is soooo confusing. I just spent 3 mins listening to a guy saying "clockwise, counter-clockwise, clockwise, counter-clockwise" and another guy going on about algorithms :-?

:bawling: Sad thing is a 3 year old can do it in just over a minute:

Anyone got any tips, or do I have to use the "peel off the stickers" method?

Lol. I did the "peel of the stickers" method with mine when I found it a few years back. I got mad at it because I sat there for an hour a day trying to solve the stupid thing and got nowhere. Sadly, pulling of the stickers never works as well as I think it should...

Wow, sharp kid!

I used to play with one when I was younger. Now, I would probably get so frustrated with it that I would just round kick it out the back door!!!

What, I have patience.

I can solve it. My fastest time to date is 54 seconds. I actually brought my cube with me on Vacation thinking and during a few minutes of downtime and me yelling at my younger brother, I picked it up, my friend recorded me, and I clocked 54 seconds.

My advice, If you don't know the algorhythms, or how the cube functions. Don't even try it. You'll be wasting your time. You need to understand how the cube actually works in order to do it.

Ahh... you would be one of the weird and wacky speed cubers then.

I can sort of do most of the algorithms to do the first two layers. The bottom layer corners are a problem though...

Still think Lordtariel's method is the best ;)

Far from a speed Cuber lol...Those guys do it in under 20-30 seconds. It's crazy. I use the layer method like you do. Just keep at it. Theres plenty of good videos on youtube. Search for videos from a guy named THRAWST

I've got a friend at school who brings his to school and does it the hallway/lunch room and off times during class. He's pretty good at it can do in about minute if he has a good groove going. What gets me is he can also put the blocks in to all other kinds of weird patterns and stuff, he also has this pyramid Rubik's cube and a 4x4 Cube that he does all the time to.

Now me if I tried to do it, theres no way i'd ever figure it out.
