Killer Miller
I can be pretty much right angle to the target and still strike the target without a problem with the ball of the foot. It's all in the knee to the target. But I have to admit that this is one of the toughest kicks students learn to do because of the ball of the foot and toes having to be pulled back...- Killer - Mizu No KokoroShodan - Nishiyama SenseiTable Tennis: http://www.jmblades.com/Auto Weblog: http://appliedauto.mypunbb.com/Auto Forum: http://appauto.wordpress.com/

yingampyang
Ball of foot I think that there is no 1 style , and that to truly become a great martial artist and person you must take information from where ever you can.
Dobbersky
Coming from various arts, I use which ever is available. I prefer the Shin, but do use the ball of the foot and the instep in various techniques. Appart from the 'basic' training I think it is personal choice - as to what works best for you "Challenge is a Dragon with a Gift in its mouth....Tame the Dragon and the Gift is Yours....." kkennedy219
Our school teaches the beginners class to use the instep, as our sensei thinks it's easier to learn the proper form (I, however, have managed to fracture a few metatarsals kicking the heavy bag that way). The advanced class learns to use the ball of the foot. Why did I have the bowl, Bart? WHY DID I HAVE THE BOWL???
bushido_man96
well shotokan roundhouses use ball of foot tang soo do uses the instep of the foot...This is a generalization...TSD uses either the ball of the foot or the instep; not soley the instep. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
