Hmmm.... all of those sound good. Except vegetarian- I don't think I can get my man to eat something that doesn't have meat :)

Well here's one a good stand-by. It can be done with or without meat. Just throw it in the pot and forget about it. It's pretty easy to modify if you want extra stuff in it. I've never ruined it. Add the water if you find it too strong.

Taco Soup:

1 Large can diced tomatoes(28 oz undrained)

1 Can tomato sauce

1 Can sweet corn(Undrained)

3 Cans of beans(15 oz Undrained. I usually use 2 cans of kidney beans and 1 can of great northern beans)

1 Packet Taco Seasoning

1/2-1 Medium Onion

1-3 Cloves garlic

1/2 Cup Cheese(Optional)

1lb Ground Sirloin(Optional)

1/4 Cup Water(Optional)

This is pretty easy to make. Just Sautee the onions and garlic in a soup pot.(Cook meat here if you are including it) Add all the other ingredients into the pot and simmer for an hour to an hour and a half(The longer it simmers the better it is)Top with cheese and Serve this with torilla chips or if you're in an unhealthy mood, nacho cheese doritios.

I have tons of recipes. Is there anything you really want, marie? I have everything from soups, asian food, meat recipes and vegan food.

lordtariel, that sounds really good (except the meat and cheese). My next task is to learn to cook mexican, so that recipe would work. I have one chili recipe:

Beanless chili (for those that get .... ummm "gasy" with beans like I do). It's vegan, but you can modify it by using real meat.

1lb vegan meat crumbles (or ground beef for you meat eaters)

2 cloves garlic minced (I use more. I LOVE garlic)

1 large onion diced

2 tablespoons chili powder

1 teaspoon of dried oregano

1 teaspoon ground cumin

Hot pepper sauce to taste (optional)

1 28oz can of crushed tomatoes

Since the vegan version doesn't have real meat in it, I just throw everything in a stock pot and let it cook on low heat until thick and yummy (about 20 to 30 minutes). But for you meat eaters, I would brown the meat in a skillet first, then throw it in the stock pot. You can add a little bit of water if you like it on the thinner side.

That's why I put optional by them :D I don't actually miss the meat and cheese, it stands pretty well on it's own.

Cool. Are you vegetarian, too (I'm vegan ... if you haven't noticed yet)? If so, GIVE UP MORE RECIPES darn it! :D

I used to be a rabid carnivore but now I'm a (mostly) reformed vegetarian. I eat a little chicken and fish now and then, but that's about it. I'll put a few more recipes in when I get home tonight.

Chicken and Dumplings:

Can be done vegetarian, vegan or meatetarian.

For the Dumplings:

2 cups flour

1 Tbsp. baking powder

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 stick (4 Tbsp.) margarine(or Vegtable Shortening)

3/4 cup soy milk or regular milk

For the Soup:

1/2 stick (4 Tbsp.) margarine(or Vegtable Shortening)

1/2 cup onion, chopped

1/2 cup celery, chopped

1/2 cup flour

1/4 tsp. celery salt

1/2 tsp. pepper

8 cups broth(un-chicken/vegetable/chicken)

2 medium carrots, diced

1 roll of Chickettes, torn into small pieces or 1lb chicken breast

1 bay leaf

• Combine the dry ingredients for the dumplings in a bowl.

• Mix the margarine with the dry mixture until crumbly. Add the soy milk, stirring until moistened. Add more soy milk, as needed, if the mixture is too dry.

• Knead the dough for 30 seconds on a well-floured surface, then roll to 1/8-inch thickness and cut into 1/2-inch squares.

• Sauté the margarine, onion, and celery for the soup in a large saucepan until the vegetables are soft.

• Add the flour, salt, and pepper to make a thick paste. Slowly mix in the broth and bring to a boil.

• Add the carrots, Chickettes/Chicken, and bay leaf.

• Add the dumpling squares one at a time, stirring gently. Reduce the heat and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring often.

• Serve hot.
