I think in competition its nervousness but not really fear on the streets the majority or what you are feeling is fear.

The key to everything is continuity achieved by discipline.

Three rules I like to live by regarding street fights:

1. Do not feel you have anything to prove. Having a chip on your shoulder is a fast route to injury or worse.

2. If you survive a streetfight, you won.

3. Eventually you will meet someone who is better than you.

There is no martial arts without philosophy.

I agree with your points, especially with the last one. What goes around comes around.
