masterintraining Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 hey dose any1 no of any organizations that specialize in martial arts peformances/fighting, I really was considering going into MA sytle performing as a career. An example of a organization like what i am talking bout would be EMC, or XMA teams that go place to place giving demos, and participating in tournys, any insite at all will do. you must learn different combinations of techniques down to your very soul and they must come without thinking when you finish with one technique, you must immediately go into another until you have attained your goal which is to destroy the enemy.
DWx Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 Its not an organization as such, but, I really like seeing Team Ryouko's stuff. They're a Canadian performance team and some of them do some movie stunt work as well:http://www.teamryouko.comhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2-Er2xsc3oI think that if you wanted to join any of the bigger name teams, you'd have to prove yourself to them through tournaments or something similar. I'd imagine that they get loads of people asking to join and they probably wont accept just anyone. You'll have to make a name for yourself and make them have to ask you, not you ask them. Maybe you could create some samplers of your skills and upload them up onto video sharing sites like youtube and then publicize them? Whatever you do, to join a well-known team, you will have to have something special. These teams have the pick of hundereds of talented Martials Artists and gymnasts.Good Luck though. lordtariel Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 That would be my suggestion as well, get some experience and make some demo reels. Then get the word out. You might want to see if there's some kind of intern thing you could do as well. You wouldn't be doing the demos and fancy stuff right away, you'd essentially be just helping out with stuff the teams need, but you'd get some experience on how things work. There's no place like 127.0.0.1
