Withers M.A.A. Posted May 26, 2002 Posted May 26, 2002 Who is your favorite Martial Artist and why? Mine would have to be John Valera. For those of you that don't know him he competed for many years in Naska and was almost unbeatable. He was a forms and weapons competitor and was very humble. He didn't need to do gymnastic moves to win just highflying Martial ARts moves and thats why I think he was the best. His movements were so precise and so fast and powerful. He was amazing to watch. 2nd Degree black belt in Kenpo Karate and Tae Kwon Do. 1997 NASKA competitor-2nd place Nationally in Blackbelt American Forms. Firearms activist!
G95champ Posted May 26, 2002 Posted May 26, 2002 By the nature of your question I assume you want us to put out popular people we all know. Becasue each of us could say our Sensei and no one would know who we were talking about. LOL. As far as famous people no one teacher martial arts better and puts it in more simple terms than Master Yoda from Star Wars..... (General George S. Patton Jr.) "It's the unconquerable soul of man, and not the nature of the weapon he uses, that ensures victory."
Withers M.A.A. Posted May 26, 2002 Author Posted May 26, 2002 It doesn't have to be anyone famous at all. If it is your sensei then tell us his or her name and tell them why they are your favorite martial artist. G95champ Posted May 26, 2002 Posted May 26, 2002 Well agin Mater Yoda from Star Wars is a great on. LOL. My Shotokan Sensei was Howie Harvey. As far as why its just like saying why do you love your mom and dad. He was my first sensei and guided me along what he though was the right path. He helped me when I needed it and punished me likewise. (General George S. Patton Jr.) "It's the unconquerable soul of man, and not the nature of the weapon he uses, that ensures victory."

El Guerrero Loco Posted May 26, 2002 Posted May 26, 2002 Duane "Bang" Ludwig. He is a Muay Thai Boxer. He's been in KOTC(king of the cage) as well as K1. He once fought this street fight and whooped him real good, I love seeing "street fighters" getting busted by martial artists. "Live free.Die well..."
