Withers M.A.A.
I'm curious who competes on this forum. Are you a fulltime competitor or just compete occasionally? ARe you on a team? Do you follow a particular circuit or just do random tornaments? 2nd Degree black belt in Kenpo Karate and Tae Kwon Do. 1997 NASKA competitor-2nd place Nationally in Blackbelt American Forms. karatekid1975
I compete occasionally. Only in forms and breaking, though. I went to three different tournies (including ones I competed in) and I witnessed cheating by judges in sparring, so I don't spar ouside of class. I used to go to tournies "hosted" by the IMA (https://www.imahg.net) only, but I did do one open tourny. Now I'm in TKD, and I haven't competed yet. Bon
Any tournaments that come up I go in.. It takes sacrifice to be the best. There are always two choices, two paths to take. One is easy. And its only reward is that it's easy.
Pacificshore
I've competed some in the past, but not anymore. I've never really followed all the ratings for tournaments, can you provide a little insight to how one gets rated by the different organizations? Thanks Di'DaDeeeee!!!Mind of Mencia
Withers M.A.A.
Well to be rated by a circuit such as Naska or Krane you first need to join their organization. Then they have a bunch or tornaments throughout the year. The larger the torn. is the more points you get for winning. You are allowed to use 20 torn. total I believe for your final ratings. So if you win 20 1st places at a National event you have a better chance at rating higher at the end of the year. So in order to be national champion you need to win multiple national torn. 2nd Degree black belt in Kenpo Karate and Tae Kwon Do. 1997 NASKA competitor-2nd place Nationally in Blackbelt American Forms.
