lordtariel Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 So where do you prefer to practice? The answer doesn't have to be where you train, but instead where you'd like to. There's no place like 127.0.0.1
ps1 Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 I'm not sure why, but my favorite place is still at the dojo. Of course, I practice everywhere I can, when I can! But I like the dojo best. Maybe it's just the atmosphere. "It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenius."
DWx Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 I like practicing outside... but I never get anything properly done. I usually just get distracted and end up doing something else. At least when I practice in the dojang there are little outside distractions. "Everything has its beauty, but not everyone sees it." ~ Confucius
a_ninja Posted May 9, 2007 Posted May 9, 2007 I think it depends on what im training in, but overall in a dojo. the best fight is one that doesnt happen
karatekid1975 Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 Same here. I perfer the dojang. But I only train two days a week. Now I'm helping my instructor (with the kids classes), so that might be limited, also (except for the adult class).I try to train at home. But, like DW, I get distracted by other things. My training usually lasts about ten minutes, then it's time to clean or cook, or do yard work, ect. Laurie F
strangepair03 Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 I like my living room.....But I will practise anywhere given the chance!!!!! A punch should stay like a treasure in the sleeve. It should not be used indiscrimately.Kyan Chotoku Sensei

Maybe it's just the atmosphere.I would have to agree with you here. The dojo/dojang atmosphere just gets me in the mood to work out, and I know that I am there to train, along with everyone else. Distractions are minimal, and it is easy to focus. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
A_Train Posted May 10, 2007 Posted May 10, 2007 I enjoy training both at the dojang and at home. I would like to experience training at a park or something, but I don't think I would like to attract that much attention to myself. I play a wrestling game online. If you'd like to play follow this linkhttp://www.thewrestlinggame.com/wg.asp?w= 133896

marie curie Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 I've never done it at a formal dojo- I think that I would like that. ...No one would have walked all over our mats, or we wouldn't have to roll out our carpet on the roller-rink floor, or have kids playing ping-pong with their coach yelling at them like 10 feet away...
