Xepher
Hello All! Recently purchased a Bokken and was wondering if theres any drills or practice techniques that work to improve swordsmenship. (Didn't know if this is right forum for this ) , Also Should I wrap the hilt of it in tape for better grip? Not really having trouble gripping it though....PS: If your right handed are you supposed to grip the Bokken or any sword with your right hand on top? Because Im right handed and I put my left on top and find it much easier. Thanks all!
bushido_man96
As for the grip, I would put your right hand on top. As for training, look into finding a school, or do research in books or on the internet.Remember, keep the moves simple and efficient. There isn't a whole lot of flash to sword play. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
obiwansbane
He has a school. He just doesn't have the brains to ask the instructor who specializes in the katana for a private lesson Come on man hop to it, shawn's waiting! As for grip, its proper to have right over left, and that is more than likely the first thing he will try to correct you on, but if it is more comfortable to use your left hand on top i guess comfort wins, because not everyone is the same. But yah, asking shawn or shihan for drills would be alot more useful than random people who cant see what you can already do for advice on how to progress. Brown belt... win trophies... grade... lose trophies... so much fun
