tallgeese Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 I agree, that's where you really get the most out of training. A real, live, breathing and fighting adversary. That's why we did most all of out weapons work in 2- man drills. In fact, I can't think of any better way to train this type of skill with the nunchuku. http://alphajiujitsu.com/https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJhRVuwbm__LwXPvFMReMww
Montana Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Maybe it's just the root systems that I come out of, but the minimal (and I do stress minimal) training I had with the 'chucks actually focused on their use as a tool for joint poition work. Think in terms of a giant nut cracker. This was a much more controlled use than wheeling them around.BRAVO! FINALLY, somebody that knows what they're talking about! I get so blamed tired of hearing about spinning "chucks" around their hands or necks or between their legs, and that's good technique. BAH! If you don't want to stand behind our troops, please..feel free to stand in front of them.Student since January 1975---4th Dan, retired due to non-martial arts related injuries.
