a broom stick is the most practical, someone with little training has a huge advantage over someone who is well versed in empty hand combat, with a knife you have to be able to know foot work and proper distancing and timing. would be much easier to defeat the other person with the broom stick

broomstick because of the distance advantage. also i suck at getting in on people with long weapons and so i could beat myself if i had a longer weapon.
