Brady Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 I am looking to replace a couple of weapons. Obviously for shipping, I would like to get them from the same place.First I am looking for a pretty decent pair of Nunchaku. I need them to be traditional, made of wood, with cord instead of chain. I also need a 14" pair, instead of the "standard" 12".Second, I am looking for a new bo. I am not one of those people that feels that they need one bow for kata, and one bow to train with, and one bo to fight with. I just need a good 6' wooden bow that isn't too heavy, but can withstand an appropriate amount of striking..Thanks in advance! "You can't learn karate from a book. You gotta paint the fence."
lordtariel Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 Well, there's lots of places online that you can find these...http://centuryma.com/ Century Martial Artshttp://www.wle.com//store/k_weapons.html Wing Lam Enterpriseshttp://www.martialartsmart.net/ Martial Arts Marthttp://www.shureidousa.com/kobudo/kobudo.html Shureido(Super-expensive but incredible quality)Shipping's going to be a killer just about anywhere since you're buying a bo.(I wound up paying about $40 for my bo.. I paid more in shipping than the bo actually cost) I'd recommend finding weapons made either out of Oak or Ash since they hold up fairly well. I'd recommend seeing if your sensei can order the weapons for you to save on shipping or finding someone else who needs to buy a long weapon so you can split the shipping. Hope it helps There's no place like 127.0.0.1

storyteller Posted May 1, 2007 Posted May 1, 2007 I like awma.com (Asian World Martial Arts) not the cheapest site, but one of the better selections of high quality weapons.I've never been a big Century fan where weapons are concerned. In my experience, they often break easily and just plain aren't worth the price.Regards--
