The BB of C
If you do not want to do katas...pick thaiI agree with Rainbow_Warrior. Muay Thai may be a good choice for you if that's what you're looking for.
baronbvp
I like Muay Thai more than karate for all the reasons you mentioned in your OP. I believe you should also add BJJ or some kind of grappling/ground fighting to your arsenal. Only as good as I make myself be, only as bad as I let myself be.Martial arts are like kinetic chess. Your move.
AikiGuy
If you are looking for something similar to your previous styles, definitely Muay Thai. Just be aware, they are very hard and brutal in training. They don't really do much soft stuff like "touch" or "point" sparring where you pull your punches. So if you want to take striking to the next level, this is your thing. Just a side note: Most people who train in a second style usually pick a much different style so they are more well-rounded. Judo or Hapkido would be good choices for some variety if you are ever interested in that. Paranoia is not a fault. It is clarity of the world around us. Patrick
Hey all,Just as a reminder, there is no other option on this thread. The poll is a list of arts that the member presumably has access to and those are what s/he can choose from. This thread doesn't function for anyone to say what art they personally prefer, but what art they think is better for poisendhearts with his/her goals in mind, outlined as such:alot of Kicking, punching, blocking, extensive sparring, and not that much forms(or katas), and slow testing inbetween periodsThanks. vashogun
Have you considered Krav Maga? To preserve the enemies armies is best, to destroy their armies, second best.
