Derek1224
Hi everyone,I'm Derek and found my way here through curiosity. I've found alot of good information and helpful people and feel this board will be a good community to be part of. I practice Sun Hang Do and have been doing so for 6 months now. It's been alot of fun and a great experience. I'm currently a White with Black stripe and am testing on Feb. 10th for my Yellow belt. I'm doing weapons training as well at my Sun Hang Do Do-jang. Nunchuku, Long Staff, Short Sticks, and Kendo Stick are the weapons I've been learning so far and on the 8th I'll be starting my Tonfa training. Derek I can see it, I can feel it, I can do it! bushido_man96
Welcome, and good luck on testing! Is Sun Hang Do a Korean style? I have not heard of it before. Could you tell us some more about it? Thanks! https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
Derek1224
Thanks guys. Yes its a Korean style that was started 18 years ago by Grand Master Jin Kang. It incorporates hard and soft styles and weapons training. For alot better info then I can give you go to https://www.sunhangdo.com.So far Sun Hang Do is only available in British Columbia but it is growing in popularity quite quickly around here. I see no reason why there couldn't be more Do-jang's opened up else where in the future. This is taken right from the website's home page...Sun Hang Do’s techniques are a combination of both HARD and SOFT movements. All patterns, weapons and self defense are practiced with a focus on these two opposites, working together in harmony.Sun Hang Do teaches a positive "I can do it!" mental attitude. Students will increase energy and develop better mental control. This will improve relaxation and develop leadership skills to help focus on the tasks of today’s busy lifestyle.Sun Hang Do training improves physical well-being through proper exercise, with a focus on breathing and food control. By following our proper stretching curriculum, students will be able to rehabilitate their physical problems.Sun Hang Do’s purpose is to allow the mind & body to become one with each other. When a person can achieve this harmony, they will lead a healthy and successful life! I can see it, I can feel it, I can do it!

TigerDude
Welcome aboard! If you think only of hitting, springing, striking or touching the enemy, you will not be able actually to cut him. You must thoroughly research this. - Musashi
Derek1224
Thanks everyone. Only 4 more days till testing and I'm getting nervous. Our Grand Master will be at this testing and I have a feeling my Master will have me do my round-off flash kick for him. I can see it, I can feel it, I can do it!
